Noted Music curator and new music and opera composer, Nick Hallet  honors the first gay teen America ever met when PBS aired the LOUD FAMILY reality show in the early '70's . Lance Loud moved to New York (and into my building on Waverly Place for a time) formed a band with Kristian  Hoffman called the Mumps and was a signature act in Mickey Ruskin's Max's Kansas City . HISTORY LESSON In 1970 the Young Lords occupied a Churchi in East Harlem. Sylvia "Ray" Rivera (that is how v identified vself then) got up at a.Gay Liberation Front Meeting very excited and call on GLF to support them called on.all Puerto Rican Queens to come with join them....and we did ..uninvited and unexpected. RIP Ingrid Sischy

I was never a close friend of Ingrid Sischy, But for over 40 years from the back room of Max's to museums openings , gallery shows, darken theaters and runway shows I would see Ingrid out and about . we would always smile and acknowledge each other .. over the years and particularly during the reign of AIDS death our eyes would meet with a deeper acknowledgment of living through this nightmare. She was one of the three smartest women/people I have known. I was always excited to read her critiques about the most creative aspects of popular culture. Ingrid was the ultimate tastemaker. Her curiosity and wit for me made her the heir apparent pf Susan Sontag. She did not have to carry the baggage pf the closet because in many ways Susan had opened the door for others to walk through when she herself still had difficulty. To her life partner and wife we share your love and grief. And for us who read what ever she wrote there will be a gap yet to be filled by a female intellect not afraid to think for herself and not are too much what we thought about it. Thank you Ingrid...may your Bardo journey be first class and as exciting as everything in life that fascinated you

This is so fucked up...first these trans bullies beat up lesbians who want to have a bio women only music fest...instead of having their own fest .and now these self named "women" turn their bullyclubs on gay men who have fun challenging the restricted gender expression rules policed by boring het and het wanna bes...I know this campaign does not reflect the attitude of my trans friends. I. know I not being politically correct but fuck it I will not let this small gang of trans people destroy my homo queer culture...it does not mean you have to be into drag to defend its gender politics importance in attacking homophobia and constructed masculinity ...I have felt their bully anger and fire and lies personally. .I do suggest there is a way to respect individuals choice in gender expression and all its ramifications...but to cave into the fringe madness of so called trans activism ..no no no ..the Drag March here like the Trans March and the DYKE March have picked up the baton of radical vision that Gay Inc fears...no we are not just like you ..and many of us don't want to be. ....anyone ever hear of genderqueer ..that is what I identify with..... ask me why in private ..and for the record i am not afraid to call out any one regardless of they gender expression if I feel their act or presentation is racist, classist or sexist ... period.

ciience and medical research have definitively proven tha humans respond in difverent ways to truma, I have been raped, More thatn once . One time in front of a group of people who responded to my cries for help wiht cheers. This post is not about me. But I say this to let Fox know I too know about ho silence seems to be the baes reation wuntil the repression of feeling explodes unexpectedly.

I asked that the other people in the room make public statements on Fox's reverlations and their role , if any , in the events.

Here are the statements made in the last 24 hours by Joan Jett and Cherrie Curry, Fox's band mates reputed to have been in the room I found them on Evelyn McDonnell blog. I know, respect and trust Mcdonnel's insights . She wrote the book on the Runaways that came out a couple of years ago.Queens of Noise.

McDonnell: Ah, to be in the midst of an internet storm — and have no internet! Shortly after my last post, Joan Jett released her own statement, on Facebook:

“Anyone who truly knows me understands that if I was aware of a friend or bandmate being violated, I would not stand by while it happened.” Jett, who still performs with the Blackhearts, wrote on Facebook. “For a group of young teenagers thrust into ’70s rock stardom there were relationships that were bizarre, but I was not aware of this incident. Obviously Jackie’s story is extremely upsetting and although we haven’t spoken in decades, I wish her peace and healing.”

Cherie Currie has also spoken:

I have been accused of a crime. Of looking into the dead yet pleading eyes of a girl, unable to move while she was brutally raped and doing nothing. I have never been one to deny my mistakes in life and I wouldn’t start now. If I were guilty, I would admit it. There are so many excuses I could make being only one month into my sixteenth year at the time that people would understand but I am innocent. When I return from Sweden I will seek a qualified polygraph examiner to put to rest any and all allegations. I will make public the questions, answers and results of that test. I am a proud person but for this, I may need to open a Fund Me account since I do not know how much this will cost. I am not a rich person but a carver. I wouldn’t ask for funding for my new album because I am proud. I will prove I am telling the truth. I will not allow anyone to throw me under the bus and accuse me of such a foul act. I will fight for myself. It is the only thing I can do and I’m glad to do it.”

I also want to clarify two things:

1. This is not about Jason Cherkis and myself.

2. I am not attacking Jackie or her story.

Finally, I know that all of this is very hard for the many of us for whom it triggers our own difficult memories. I hope we can all keep this in mind and make this a humane, human conversation.

this is big news: Killer Mike of  Run the Jewels (last year's critically acclaimed album made my top ten ballot in the predicicious Pazz and Jop poll ) who has been  politically outspoken on issues that affect black citizens in sharp contrast to the misogynistic antics of rappers like Snoop Dogg and 50 cents who have endorsed Clinton , has announced on twitter to his 150,000 followers that he is endorsing Bernie Sanders and gives the reason why.. Read the his statement ,,it is quite something ,,, as to me : I like Bernie bu am waiting until the debates to formally endorse a candidate. Issue and actions are what matter to me .. and if I have a litmus ..it is the same one that guided me in the last three elections: thr Supreme Court.. i have still not forgiven Gore and the Democratic Party leadership for not fighting the the 7 Justice ruling declaring Bush won... and look what that win did to this Country trillions of $ for war, unconditional support of the Saudi and Israeli governments  and gave us the Court that supported Citizens United and the Hobby Lobby wins.
